 American comedian, vaudevillian, actor, singer, dancer, author, and athlete.
 Awarded over two thousand honors and awards, including 54 honorary doctorates. 
 In 1963 awarded the Congressional Gold Medal for service to his country. 
 Awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1969. 
 Was awarded five honorary awards by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences
