Santa's Whiskers
It wouldn’t be the same without them. Church on Christmas Eve. The family holiday dinner. Leaving cookies and milk for Santa. A log in the fireplace. A special decoration on the tree. How we celebrate Christmas is composed of family traditions, some that we inherit, some that we create.
The word “tradition” derives
from the Latin trader or
traderer, meaning to transmit,
to hand over, to give for
safekeeping, a belief or
behavior passed down that has
some symbolic meaning or
special significance.
And each year, by celebrating
Christmas we preserve the
holiday and give it to our
children, our friends and our
family for safekeeping,
knowing that in the years to
come they will continue to do
the same.
