Singing
It's a special time of the year, and it's defined by the kind of music we sing during the season, by our memories of previous seasons, by the activities we plan for the season, and by the emotional hope we have that this season will somehow be "traditional."
One of the most popular ways we all celebrate Christmas is through singing. We sing carols at church, listen to them in the elevator, tune them in on the car radio, and sometimes join groups that go door-to-door celebrating the season by singing carols.
And even though the season only comes around for a short time each year, it's surprising how most of us can sing those carols from memory - "I'm dreaming of a . . . . ", Rudolph, the red-nosed . . . . ", "Let it snow, let it snow . . . . ", Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle . . . . "
